Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

-High school diploma or GED

-Ability to speak, read, and understand the English Language.

-Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s

 requirements.

-Work at various heights.

-Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in the trade.

-Extensive knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems.

-Write, comprehend, and edit specifications and prints for new construction and modifications to all

 types of Fire Safety systems.

-Electrician experience preferred.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform all duties of a Low Voltage Lead. Tech I, II, III, and IV.
2. Perform all duties of a Fire Safety & Risk Management Specialist.
3. Direct and supervise all phases of Fire Safety System modifications.
4. Approve parts and material orders for the department.
5. Conduct follow-up inspections of completed work.
6. Coordinate repairs or renovations by outside contractors.
7. Attend Planning Review meetings.
8. Be the Point of Contact for the Fire Marshal’s Office.
9. Attend Fire Safety Inspection walks with the Fire Marshal.
10. Take the necessary action to immediately report and correct any condition that may cause injury or illness to students or staff.
11. Monitor departmental purchases.
12. Review specifications and prints for new construction.
13. Monitor District Safety Software as needed.
14. Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Working Conditions:

1. Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
2. Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
3. Be available for after-hours demands, subject to 24-hour responsibility.
4. Maintain emotional control under stress.
5. Ability to work alone.
6. Ability to keep information confidential.
